![]() I fixed/built it up again, this lead to more hoards, and repeat. ![]() For example I reinforced a large building and a hoard showed up, destroying my traps and some of my walls. However it's hard to make progress building, for example, when doing so raises heat level, thus causing a hoard to spawn, damage home and require fixing/building and causing more hoards. Now, all of these factors are important, and needed to be used constantly by new players especially chopping trees, building, and cooking. Explosives, weapon noise, cooking, smelting, chopping trees, mining, building huge (By the way define huge) structures, all lead to an increase in heat level. Stealthy killing them leads to few large hoardsġ spider zombie leads to many large hoardsģ. When I load back up they are gone, and I get 1-2 waves of 3-10 zombies each. Then I did it again, after the three waves, and exited when the console says it spawned three spider zombies. I think it's important to clarify that I only ran the forges/fireplace two times for 6 minutes each and got three invasions from spider zombies, not just only two. I raised the heat again, I killed only two of the zombies stealthy and let the last see me, six waves showed up numbering in the 10-20s each. Then it happened again, but I did not kill them, they beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of my home till they were inside and walked/ran right to where I was despite being hidden. I killed them stealthy like, and shocker four waves of zombies numbering in the 10-20s still showed up. Now I have done some fooling about and started a game and raised the heat level till three spider zombies showed up. After this the heat level will decrease." If they find the player, a horde will spawn in. But if the level is high enough some Spider zombie will investigate. Every chunk (~50*50 m^2) has a heat level. "Some actions will generate "Heat" in the players area. This is word for word what it says on the wiki. Heat will not go down, unless game is exited, an unknown number of hoards show up or an unknown amount of time passes. Like the 3rd and 7 night (Also 5th I think).Ģ. If anything its annoying, not scary, the only time it is scary is when you have done nothing to raise heat and hoards still show up. It's argued by the devs that this insures a scare factor, sure no one "expects" a hoard to show up after they used explosives to mine stone, totally not expected (Sarcasm). Now it says on the wiki "Over time the heat level decreases" but by how much and how quickly? Will cooking a deer require one or maybe even two days of no heat making? If a hoard destroys my home will repairing it raise the heat level, thus causing a constant cycle of defending and repair, with no room for anything else? ![]() Is it ten? Twenty? Thirty? What number do hoards actual begin to spawn ? Players can't know, because there is no measurable way to measure the heat of their actions. But what we don't know is at what number, do hoards spawn, with the goal of going to "pitstop". At 100 Spider zombies show up and just ruin your day/night. We know that it goes from 0-100 in heat level. Now I have five problems with the current way in which the heat map functions. First off, I think the heat map is a good idea, just poorly implemented.įor those that don't know what the Heat map is, Google it.
